On Tuesday, August 25, New Canaan Land Trust celebrated the opening of the newly built Anderson Land Care Center and Barbara Johansen Pollinator Garden at NCLT headquarters. More than 50 guests attended the ribbon cutting, including friends and family of Barbara Johansen and Harlan and Lois Anderson, for whom the new spaces are named.
The Anderson Land Care Center provides much-needed space for stewardship equipment used to care for NCLT’s more than 400 acres of protected open space and 6.5 miles of trails, as well as a gathering and workspace for volunteers and interns.
The Barbara Johansen Pollinator Garden, now full of color and life, showcases native plants that support bees, butterflies, birds, and other pollinators. The garden is open to the public at NCLT headquarters, 1124 Valley Road.
