DESCRIPTION:At this season’s inaugural concerts\, Greenwich Symphony Orchestra presents Music Director\, Stuart Malina\, who will conduct the 78 person professional orchestra in works by Bernstein\, Still\, Prokofiev\, and Gershwin. Performances take place at the Performing Arts Center at Greenwich High School on Saturday evening at 7:30 pm and Sunday afternoon at 3pm. \nEnjoy dance music from On the Town by Bernstein\, expand your horizons beyond Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf by listening to his Symphony No. 7. Learn about William Grant Still and his groundbreaking role as a pioneer African-American classical composer.\nFinally\, with all stops out\, Maestro Malina will conduct Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue from the keyboard as he plays this dramatic and very American masterpiece.
