New this year we also have volunteer opportunities at our Culinary Wellness Garden at Nathaniel Witherell. Come find out more! \nWe offer more than 140 raised beds filled with organic soil and organic compost\, as well as a dozen “Universal Access” plots at the Bible Street Garden that are table top height for those with limited mobility. Both community gardens are outfitted with long and short-handled tools\, wheelbarrows\, composting systems\, and rainwater collection. Gardeners are required to use non-GMO organic seeds. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Country Club of Darien. \nSchwarzenegger Pratt’s new book\, The Gift of Forgiveness: Inspiring Stories from Those Who Have Overcome the Unforgivable\, provides perspective on what it means to forgive\, use forgiveness as a tool to accept and move forward\, be more compassionate\, release challenging emotions and be unafraid to forgive. \nAlongside the first-hand accounts from Elizabeth Smart\, the mother of a Columbine shooting victim\, and 20 others\, Schwarzenegger Pratt shares her own thoughts on forgiveness and applies the lessons of others to her own journey. \nDuring the event\, Scarlett Lewis\, founder of the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement\, will serve as Schwarzenegger Pratt’s conversation partner. As a way to cope following her son’s death during the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in 2012\, Lewis developed the internationally-renowned social emotional learning model. \nSchwarzenegger Pratt’s mother\, Maria Shriver\, served as the keynote speaker of the 2018 Center for HOPE Luncheon. \nTickets can be purchased now.
