DESCRIPTION:Great Captain Island & Island Beach\nGreenwich is home to two islands situated roughly two miles off Greenwich Harbor\, Great Captain Island\, and Island Beach. \nThe Town has three ferries that provide transportation from Greenwich Harbor out to the islands from the beginning of June through mid-September; the Island Beach\, Indian Harbor\, and Islander II. \nWhat you Need to Take the Ferry\n\nSeasonal Park Pass/ Single Entry Ticket\nParking Pass (included with Seasonal Park Pass\, if vehicle registered in Greenwich) / Ticket\nFerry Ticket\n\nPark & Ferry Fees\nPasses are required for access to the islands by all visitors five years and older.  A resident seasonal Park Pass or a Single-Entry Park Ticket is needed to purchase a ferry ticket at the Arch Street Ferry Dock. \nOnce the designated ferry parking section is full\, parking tickets must be purchased at the kiosk in the lot to park in the day parking section \nFerry Schedules (PDF)\n  \nThe Cruise to Nowhere is a relaxing two-hour tour of local waters. Tickets are sold at the Arch Street Dock beginning at 10 am on the day of the cruise. A maximum of two tickets per transaction. Limited availability. Bring a friend and refreshments! \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Setting Scoliosis Straight Foundation is proudly sponsoring high school student Ava Lee at the Greenwich Art Society Gallery from June 22nd – July 21st 2022. \nGreenwich Art Society Gallery\n299 Greenwich Avenue\, Greenwich\, CT\nGallery Hours : 10-4pm M-F\, Sat & Sun 12-4pm \nAva Lee is a 17-year-old artist based in Greenwich\, Connecticut. Ava has won awards for her detailed photorealistic pieces\, and specializes in using colored pencils\, pastels\, and acrylic paint. Her artwork has won numerous Scholastic Gold Keys\, and other awards\, and has been exhibited in multiple galleries. However\, after having had scoliosis surgery in the summer of 2021\, Ava has been devoted to helping other women with this condition. Ava was diagnosed with scoliosis at nine years old and started a nationwide design competition called emBrace\, intended to improve the existing designs on medical back braces. Ava partnered with six organizations serving the scoliosis community to spread the word\, as well as Friddles\, an orthopedic company\, to manufacture the braces. The competition received over seven hundred entries and 15 winning designs will be available on the soon-to be back braces.  an orthopedic company called Friddles to manufacture the braces\, and the competition received over 700 entries\, and Ava was able to form 6 corporate partnerships with scoliosis organizations. To magnify her impact\, Ava’s hosting a solo art exhibition at Greenwich Art Society to spread public awareness about the condition and to raise money for Setting Scoliosis Straight. The exhibit includes ten different pieces that convey Ava’s journey with scoliosis and the pieces intend to beautify this condition. \nSetting Scoliosis Straight is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization devoted to empowering families impacted by scoliosis through education\, connection\, and research. Our mission is to support discoveries and advance techniques in the treatment of scoliosis in children and adolescents worldwide. As a result\, their team has worked diligently to safely maintain these areas. \nCommunity members are invited to show off their photographic talent by submitting up to four photos taken in Greenwich that express what you love most about our public parks and recreational facilities. \nParents/guardians may submit photos taken by minors under 18. Participants do not have to be a resident of Greenwich\, but all photos must be taken in Greenwich and must be of Parks and Recreation facilities\, programs or events. \nPhotos can be submitted online at www.greenwichct.gov/photocontest. Submitted photos should be high resolution originals and free of filters. Recent photos are preferred—all seasons. The contest deadline is Sunday\, July 31.

DESCRIPTION:The improvement project at Armstrong Court is about to hit another significant milestone. Greenwich Communities\, formerly known as the Greenwich Housing Authority\, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Phase 2 of the Armstrong Court project at Building #6 on Saturday\, July 16\, at 10:30 am. \n\n\n  \n\n\nPhase 2 is a $27 million project to renovate 42 housing units in Buildings #1\, 3\, and 6. The one and two-bedroom apartments have been renovated into three-bedroom units with new kitchens and appliances and other improvements. During Phase 1\, 18 new townhouses were built.  \n\n\n  \n\n\n“These buildings are transformative steps in furthering our vision for quality\, affordable housing in Greenwich\,” Greenwich Communities Executive Director Anthony Johnson said. “We continue to demonstrate our commitment to provide the opportunity to live in quality\, affordable housing through fiscally responsible asset management of our resources.”  \n\n\n  \n\n\n\nThe public is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting.

Gather with friends and family on a race to track down clues and win the hunt\, culminating in a celebration on the Greenwich Historical Society campus. \nObjective: \nUsing the clues provided\, navigate across town and identify as many locations as possible\, earning points along the way. The team with the greatest number of points at the close of the competition at 2:00 pm wins. \n  \n10:00 am: Scavenger Hunt Begins- registered teams will receive an email with PDF clue document. Clue booklets will also be distributed at Museum Store. \n2:00 pm: Scavenger Hunt Concludes. \n3:00 pm: Join us for an awards ceremony and celebration on the Historical Society campus!

DESCRIPTION:Sunday Public Polo Matches at Greenwich Polo Club. Gates open at 1:00 pm\, the match begins at 3:00 pm and concludes around 5 pm. \n\n\n​ \n\n\nAll tickets are car passes\, each car pass allows entry to all passengers in the same vehicle and includes parking. The car pass ticket will be emailed from tickets@greenwichpoloclub.com and verified by a barcode scan at the entry gates. Every car\, including an Uber and drop-off\, needs a unique car pass ticket for the gate. One valid entry scan per barcode. \n\n\n​ \n\n\nOutside alcoholic beverages are not permitted in seating areas located on the West side of the field (Grandstand SkyBoxes\, Bleachers\, West Lawn Club\, Cabanas\, Players Lounge). Full Bar Service from The Cup Bearer is available to all guests as well as our Polo Bistro by Marica Selden Catering and the gourmet food trucks. \n\n\n​ \n\n\nWe welcome kids of all ages. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Please bring a picnic blanket or low chairs for lawn seating sections. In the case of inclement weather forecast please check our website homepage’s top header for cancellation or time change notifications. If no notice is placed\, the Sunday match currently is as scheduled.
