New Canaan High School (NCHS) is now accepting site sponsors for their 2024-25 Senior Internship Program (SIP), offering local businesses an exciting opportunity to host motivated senior students. The program will run from May 20 to June 13, 2025, providing businesses with fresh perspectives, new solutions, and even creative approaches to projects, all while giving students invaluable real-world experience.
A Life-Changing Experience: Ankita’s Story:
Ankita Kuttichirayil, a senior at NCHS, had a transformative experience during last year’s program while interning with Dr. Edward Schuster, a cardiologist at Stamford Hospital’s Tully Center. Reflecting on her time, Ankita shared, “My favorite part of the internship was seeing different patients, being able to talk to them, and hearing Dr. Schuster’s stories.” The internship solidified Ankita’s desire to pursue a career in medicine, giving her a glimpse into the world of cardiology and a starting place for her continuing education after graduation.
Dr. Schuster also enjoyed the experience, stating, “The interns are smart; they keep me on my toes and it’s fun teaching. It keeps me young and active, and I hope the program continues.” His enthusiasm underscores the mutual benefits businesses and professionals experience by mentoring future leaders.
