On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the Country Club of New Canaan hosted the GetAbout Annual Spring Fundraiser, drawing 225 guests for an evening of celebration and philanthropy. The event highlighted GetAbout’s over 40-year commitment to providing safe, efficient, and professional transportation services to New Canaan residents.
Attendees were treated to a delightful dinner and danced the night away to the lively tunes of Tangled Vine. The evening’s entertainment included a mesmerizing performance by mentalist Phil “The Magic Man,” who captivated the audience with his extraordinary feats. Guests also participated in both live and silent auctions, bidding on exclusive items and experiences to support GetAbout’s mission.
For over four decades, GetAbout has been a vital resource for New Canaan residents, offering more than 10,000 rides annually. In 2024 alone, the organization provided 8,673 rides and delivered 5,742 Meals on Wheels to homebound residents. With a fleet of seven wheelchair-accessible vans and a team of professional drivers, GetAbout ensures that seniors and individuals with disabilities have reliable transportation for medical appointments, errands, and social activities.
The fundraiser underscored the strength of community spirit in New Canaan. It was a night where multiple generations came together, shared laughter, and danced under the stars, all in support of a cause that enriches the lives of many.
