Girls Golf

May 12 – Rams Defeat Rival Darien

The girls golf team continued their strong season with a commanding 155–195 win over Darien at the Country Club of New Canaan (Par 34). Chloe Cui led the team with an impressive 36, followed by Maxie Mirin (38) and Lauren Livesay (39). Carielle D’Elisa (42), Lily Mohr (45), and Adelaide Tuff (50) rounded out the solid team performance.

May 14 – Tri-Match Sweep

Two days later, the Rams dominated again, beating both Staples (192) and Ridgefield (204) with a team score of 159. Chloe Cui and Maxie Mirin both shot 38, with support from Lauren Livesay (41), Carielle D’Elisa (42), and Lucy Lavigne (50). The back-to-back wins show strong depth on this year’s New Canaan squad.

Girls Tennis

May 12 – Shutout vs. Trumbull

New Canaan girls tennis rolled to a 7–0 sweep of Trumbull. In singles play, Natalia Lundberg, Maryn Plumb, Aarna Gupta, and Olivia Vellante all secured wins. Doubles teams of Lee/Carr, Adamczyk/Caleba, and Bench/Giammarco dominated their matches without dropping more than two games each.

May 17 – Another 7–0 Win Against Bridgeport Central

The Rams repeated the feat five days later, sweeping Bridgeport Central 7–0. Lundberg and Plumb didn’t drop a single game, and doubles play remained flawless. New Canaan has now posted back-to-back shutouts and continues to show its dominance on the court.

Baseball

May 12 – Offensive Outburst Over Bridgeport Central

The Rams opened the week with a huge 16–5 win against Bridgeport Central. After a slow start, the bats came alive in the fourth inning, scoring six runs, followed by four runs each in the fifth and sixth. New Canaan tallied 11 hits in the game.

May 13 – Shut Out by St. Joseph

The momentum didn’t carry over to Tuesday, where New Canaan fell 4–0 to St. Joseph. Despite a strong defensive effort with no errors, the Rams only managed two hits and couldn’t get on the scoreboard.

May 15 – Extra-Inning Heartbreaker vs. Trumbull

New Canaan battled hard in a nine-inning game against Trumbull but lost 3–2 in extras. The Rams outhit Trumbull 9–4 and tied the game in the seventh, but the Eagles walked it off in the ninth.

Girls Softball

May 17 – Narrow Loss to St. Joseph

In a tightly contested game, New Canaan fell 2–1 at home against St. Joseph. The Rams tied the game in the fourth inning, but the Cadets pushed across the go-ahead run in the seventh. New Canaan had four hits and one error in the game.

Boys Volleyball

May 12 – Sweep at Ridgefield

The boys volleyball team started their week with a clean 3–0 sweep over Ridgefield, winning the sets 27–25, 25–22, and 25–20. The Rams closed out each set with composure and strong teamwork.

May 14 – Big Win Against Darien

In a high-energy match, New Canaan took down rival Darien 3–1. After a close second set loss, the Rams bounced back to win the next two sets 25–15 and 25–18. It was a complete team effort in front of a home crowd.

May 15 – Another Sweep vs. St. Joseph

The Rams closed out the week with a 3–0 sweep of St. Joseph. They won convincingly in straight sets (25–16, 25–19, 25–21) and continued to show they’re a force in the FCIAC this season.

Boys Lacrosse

May 13 – Rams Dominate McMahon

New Canaan boys lacrosse cruised past McMahon with an 18–2 win on the road. Heading into the eventual run at a state champions title, its performances like this that help to set the stage.
