The Gridiron Club of New Canaan recently presented the New Canaan High School Scholarship Foundation (“NCHSSF”) with a generous donation of $5,000, proceeds from Gridiron’s annual show. This year’s April 2025 event recognized Wendy Coleman Dixon Hilboldt for her outstanding example and many years of community service to New Canaan. Hilboldt selected NCHSSF as the beneficiary based on her long-time experience with and commitment to the group, which was founded in 1967 to provide need-based scholarships to deserving NCHS graduates who are pursuing higher education at the undergraduate level. In 2024, the foundation distributed $180,000 to 54 deserving graduates and post-graduates of New Canaan High School.

Wendy Hilboldt has been an active volunteer over many years with multip Thunem le organizations in town, including the teen center, food pantry, May Fair, and New Canaan Community Foundation. Most notably, she is going strong in her 47th year as an EMT on the New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

The Gridiron Club of New Canaan is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization established to honor local citizens who have dedicated years of community service to the town of New Canaan. The annual Gridiron Show is a one-time event, open to the public, and net proceeds from ticket sales each year are donated to a charity of the honoree’s choosing.
