Boys Varsity Soccer
The boys soccer team had mixed results last week on the road. On October 6th, New Canaan traveled to St. Joseph and secured a tight 1-0 victory. However, the team faced a setback against Trumbull on October 9th, losing 3-0.
Girls Varsity Volleyball
The volleyball team continues to impress this season with a record of 12 wins and 2 losses. New Canaan swept three home matches last week: a 3-0 win over Darien on October 6th, another 3-0 victory against McMahon on October 8th, and a 3-0 win over Westhill on October 10th.
Boys Cross Country
New Canaan competed at Trumbull on October 7th, finishing second as a team with 52 points. Trumbull won with 19 points. Leading the way for New Canaan were Boyd Cousley (4th place, 16:07.55), Ryan Monohan (5th, 16:26.87), and Peter Tsapralis (10th, 17:23.49), all setting personal records. Other contributors included Conor Harding, Cormac Kilkenny, David Cuenca Goddard, and Blake DiCapua.
Girls Cross Country
The girls team dominated at Trumbull on October 7th, winning the meet with 22 points. Sienna De Kanter led the team with a first-place finish in 17:42.57, followed closely by Georgina Harrington in second and Mairead Greiner in fourth, all achieving personal records. Other strong performances came from Bridget de Kanter, Margaret Hanson, Mary Jordan, and several others, contributing to a decisive team win.
Girls Varsity Soccer
The girls soccer team earned two clean-sheet victories last week. On October 7th, they defeated St. Joseph 2-0 at home. The team followed that up with another 2-0 win against Trumbull on October 10th.
Boys Varsity Golf
The boys golf team defeated Fairfield Ludlowe 163-168 at Smith Richardson Golf Course on October 8th. New Canaan was led by Quinn Susanin and Wyatt Rotchford, who both shot 39, followed by George Ives with 41, and Henry King and Will Morawa each with 44.
Boys Football
New Canaan’s football team dominated Danbury on October 10th, winning 43-10. Maddox Hoffman was nearly perfect in the passing game, completing all 12 of his throws for 165 yards and two touchdowns, while Quinn Jens added three completions for 12 yards.
On the ground, Henry Stein led the team with 157 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Charlie Koch and Blake Schwartz each added a rushing score. James McInerney, Andrew Esposito, and Finn Mocco contributed key rushing and receiving yards.
The team totaled 471 all-purpose yards, including rushing, receiving, and return yards. Henry Stein led in total yards with 197, and James McInerney added 99 all-purpose yards. New Canaan scored six touchdowns in all, converting two extra points and five kicks to reach 43 points.
With strong performances across passing, rushing, and receiving, the football team showed balanced offense and controlled the game from start to finish.
