Thank you to The Exchange Club of New Canaan | LETTER

On Saturday, October 18th, the New Canaan Land Trust had the privilege of being the beneficiary of The Exchange Club of New Canaan’s Day of Service.

Exchange Club members arrived bright and early at 8 a.m., ready for a full day of hard work. Volunteers worked in two shifts and accomplished an impressive array of projects. They began by filling the new educational pollinator garden at NCLT headquarters with yards of soil and moving countless rocks by wheelbarrow to line the garden perimeter. Thanks to their efforts, the garden is now fully prepped for planting this week—just in time before the fall frost.

Their contributions didn’t stop there. Volunteers also tackled several other key projects from our to-do list. They relocated stewardship equipment from the barn to the house cellar at NCLT headquarters—a significant task given the volume of heavy equipment used to maintain our preserves—in preparation for upcoming work to the barn. Other projects included installing new outdoor lighting and even building a coffee table for our headquarters.

A heartfelt thank-you goes to Patrick Edmonds for organizing the day and to all Exchange Club members who participated. Your dedication, teamwork, and generosity made a tremendous impact, and the Land Trust is deeply grateful.

Sincerely,

Robin Bates-Mason

Executive Director
