Increased Speeding Enforcement
The New Canaan Police Department is increasing patrols in response to speeding complaints on several town roads. Officer Robert Rizzitelli is leading the enforcement effort, which will continue as needed. Police urge drivers to slow down and encourage others to do the same.

Leaf Collection
New Canaan’s annual leaf collection will begin November 3 for properties one acre or smaller and runs through November 30. Residents should rake leaves to the curb in neat rows, free of debris and plastic bags. Those in two and four acre zones are asked to compost on-site or bring leaves to the town’s composting area on Lapham Road.

Stuart Sawabini
Former New Canaan Police Commissioner Stuart Sawabini has passed away at age 72. He served on the commission from 2005 to 2018, leading communication upgrades and contributing to emergency planning. NCPS Director of Innovation and Technology
Melinda Meyer has been named Director of Innovation and Technology for New Canaan Public Schools, effective November 1. A longtime district educator with more than 20 years of experience, she has led several science and innovation initiatives.
