Girls Volleyball
The New Canaan girls volleyball team put together a perfect week, earning three straight victories to continue their strong run in the FCIAC conference.
On Monday, the Rams swept Ridgefield 3–0 in a dominating performance. They controlled every set, winning 25–10, 25–11, and 25–18.
Two days later, on Wednesday , New Canaan traveled to Danbury and again shut out their opponent 3–0. The Rams kept their momentum going with set scores of 25–18, 25–20, and 25–11.
Capping off the week, Friday saw New Canaan take down Staples in a 3–1 win during a conference tournament match. The Rams took the first two sets 25–17 and 25–18, stumbled slightly in the third 22–25, but closed strong with a 25–23 victory in the fourth.
Girls Field Hockey
The New Canaan field hockey team battled hard in the FCIAC Quarterfinals on Wednesday but fell just short against Fairfield Ludlowe, 2–1. Despite a late push, Fairfield Ludlowe held off New Canaan’s comeback bid to advance, closing the season for New Canaan.
Girls Soccer
In a rivalry matchup on Tuesday, the New Canaan girls soccer team lost a narrow 1–0 decision to Darien.
The Blue Wave managed the lone goal of the game, while the Rams’ defense kept it close to the end. Despite several late chances, New Canaan couldn’t find the back of the net.
Boys Football
The New Canaan football team earned a hard-fought 14–7 victory over Greenwich on Friday in front of a home crowd.
The Rams jumped out early with touchdowns in the first and second quarters to take a 14–0 halftime lead. Greenwich responded with a score in the third, but New Canaan’s defense tightened up and kept the Cardinals off the board the rest of the way.
Girls Swimming Tops Fairfield Ludlowe
The girls swim team picked up a solid home win against Fairfield Ludlowe on Wednesday at the New Canaan YMCA pool. The Rams clinched the win against their opponents with a score of 92–82.
