Silvermine Arts Center devotes its Galleries to Guild members’ work every summer. The annual Summer Salon gives visitors a chance to view the artists’ newest works and experience a range of new directions in contemporary art. The public is invited to the opening reception on Saturday July 19 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Summer Salon runs from July 19 through August 21.
For the seasoned or new collector, Summer Salon features a wide range of price points and styles—from contemporary to traditional, with art for every budget and aesthetic preference. The annual exhibition also provides a glimpse of Silvermine artists experimenting and exploring the possibilities of their art. Among the works featured in the exhibition are Miggs Burrough’s lenticular image of Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana; stunning new ceramic work including pieces by Mindy Horn, Tini Pinto, Jon Puzzuoli, and Lisa Scroggins; moody and ethereal landscapes and streetscapes; new sculpture by James Buxton, Stephen Klema, Marlene Siff, and Derek Uhlman; and abstract painting and mixed media pieces that celebrate geometric and organic pattern. The Summer Salon is a feast of color and texture and a testament to art’s ability to bring us into wonder and astonishment.
This exhibition can be viewed online or in person. The Silvermine Galleries are open to visitors 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Please visit www.silvermineart.org for more information.
