Sunday’s annual Halloween Block Party, organized by the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by New Canaan Pediatric Dentistry, made Elm Street even livelier than usual. Elm Street was bursting with kids, candy, costumes and critters the Block Party.
Hundreds of often-elaborately-costumed families and their pets enjoyed the sunny Autumn day, with numerous local businesses, charities and civic groups hosting informational booths and distributing candy. School of Rock provided the music. “This is an opportunity for young families to come out and stroll through town and be treated — no tricks! — just treated by all the stores and some of the nonprofit groups,” said Laura Budd, the Chamber’s executive director.

There was also a Howl-o-ween Dog Parade. Twenty costumed canines vied for prizes, with all participants receiving goody bags from Pet Pantry. This event was supported by the Chamber, and sponsored by Room For Paws Pet Resort.
