YWCA Stand Against Racism Day @ The Greenwich Town Hall Meeting Room

April 28, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Free

Friday, April 28, 2017 • 10:00 – 11:00 am
Town Hall Meeting Room, Greenwich Town Hall

Joined by more than 70 YWCAs in the USA and upwards of 70 “Participating Sites” within the Greenwich community, the annual town-wide event accentuates the importance of combating bigotry and racism wherever it exists. The free public event is part of a national YWCA initiative in which more than 300,000 people across the United States take part in helping to advance the YWCA’s mission to eliminate racism and promote racial justice and civil rights.
Among the featured guests for the 2016 event were Greenwich High School senior Cory Myrtil (above with Adrianne Singer, left, and William McKersie, right). See her remarks here. Also joining YWCA President and CEO Adrianne Singer were First Selectman Peter Tesei, School Superintendent William McKersie, Federal, State  and Local Dignitaries and the First Baptist Church Choir led by Michele Hilton.
For additional information, call Jackie Stam at j.mockler@ywcagreenwich.org or  203-869-6501, ext. 104. To become a “Participating Site,” go to www.standagainstracism.org.
