Contemporary artist Margaret Lee discusses her work, themes that inspired her, and contemporary art.

Margaret Lee (b. 1980) lives and works in New York. She has exhibited work at numerous venues domestically and internationallyincluding the 2014 Hammer Museum biennial, Made in L.A. and the 2013 Biennale de Lyon.   Her work has also been shown in solo and two-person exhibitions in numerous US and international galleries.
Recently, Lee participated in Caza: Rochele Gomez, Margaret Lee, Alejandra Seeber, curated by Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy at the Bronx Museum, New York, and Lost for Words at Murray Guy, New York.
In 2009, Lee founded the artist-run space 179 Canal and is currently a partner in the gallery 47 Canal. Public collections with works by the artist include The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Dallas Museum of Art, Dikeou Collection, Denver and the Astrup Fearnley Museet, Oslo.
