Chabad of New Canaan to Celebrate 15 Years at Gala Dinner

On Thursday, January 8, 2026, the Chabad of New Canaan will celebrate 15 years of Jewish life in New Canaan at Serafresca at the Italian Center in Stamford. The evening will start at 5:30 pm with cocktails and the program and dinner will begin at 6:30 pm.
Since opening in 2010 under the leadership of Rabbi Levi and Michal Mendelow, Chabad of New Canaan has grown from serving a handful of families into a center of Jewish life. The event will bring the community together to honor the growth of Judaism in New Canaan.
The Gala will honor the impact of the Weinman Jewish Academy and the memory of Roberta Weinman. Established through the generosity and vision of the Weinman family, the Academy carries forward her legacy of building community.
This year’s Gala will honor outstanding community members. The Young Leadership Award will go to Yan and Dr. Valerie Klats whose dedication to Jewish life, community involvement and Israel exemplifies the next generation of leaders.
The Teen Volunteer Award will honor Aria Babayev, a graduate of New Canaan Hebrew School who continues to volunteer weekly, assisting with classes and programs.
As Chabad of New Canaan celebrates its 15th anniversary, the Gala will highlight the community’s remarkable journey and its shared vision for the future.
