Find Your 300-Year-Old Great Grandma Using 21st-Century Technology

March 5, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

In this workshop, learn about different free and subscription genealogy websites. Discover what they offer and how to get the most out of them. We will be exploring Family Search Wiki, Ancestry, Find My Past, My Heritage Cyndi’s List, Find A Grave, Google Books, Google Earth, DAR, and American Ancestors. Topics will include what newspaper database subscription is right for your research, and how to search sites specific to African American, Native Americans, Jewish research, and worldwide territories like the British Isles, Italy, Germany, Scandinavia, and more!

Sarah Gutmann “The Family Tree Climber” began researching her family history at just 13-years-old and has not stopped since! Almost three decades later, Sarah has helped countless others discover their own family history. In addition to researching, she teaches a variety of virtual genealogy courses across the Northeast and offers 1 to 1 virtual “genealogy coaching” sessions. With a Masters Degree in History, she breaks down brick walls throughout America, especially in the Mid-Atlantic Region. As a Daughter of the American Revolution and dual Italian Citizen, Sarah enjoys assisting others in joining American lineage associations and gaining dual Italian citizenship.
