Friday Friends Films: The Greatest Ears In Town: The Arif Mardin Story

February 3, 2017 @ 7:40 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

There’s no longer-lived or better-known program associated with Greenwich Library than the Friends Friday Film Series, now 69 years old. The screening of the day is The Greatest Ears In Town: The Arif Mardin Story (2010, directed by Joe Mardin and Doug Biro). As a part of Greenwich Library’s celebration of Black History Month, the Library is presenting a portrait of the legendary music producer at Atlantic Records who worked with Bette Midler, Aretha Franklin, George Martin, the Bee Gees…and the list goes on and on. To be followed by a live jazz concert in the Cole Sunday Feb. 5 at 3:30 p.m. with Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, arguably the most recorded drummer in history performing with his quintet. Friends Friday Films are open to all at no charge through the support of the Friends of Greenwich Library.
