Friends Family Films: Race

February 24, 2017 @ 7:40 pm - 10:30 pm

Free

There’s no longer-lived or better-known program associated with Greenwich Library than the Friends Friday Film Series, now 69 years old. The screening of the day is Race (2016, directed by Stephen Hopkins). Drama based on true events with black athlete Jesse Owens struggling to overcome racism at home and abroad in his inspiring journey to the 1936 Berlin Olympics. His victories deal a blow to the Nazi plans to make the Games a celebration of Aryan supremacy. Friends Friday Films are open to all at no charge through the support of the Friends of Greenwich Library.
