In this 2 hour workshop, artist and designer Lauren Clayton shares tangible strategies, creative exercises, and fresh marketing approaches to help artists promote themselves and their work in ways that feel authentic, and sustainable.
Designed for creatives of all disciplines and career stages, this interactive session explores how to develop a marketing modality that aligns with your personality and strengths. Participants are invited to set outside of the one-size-fits-all promotional mindset to explore unique ways to create curiosity around their work, strengthen visibility, and build deeper connections with audiences and opportunities.
Drawing from her experience in art, branding, and creative entrepreneurship, Lauren will share lessons and insights that have shaped her approach to self-promotion. Attendees will leave with actionable ideas and a clearer framework for marketing themselves

LAUREN CLAYTON: Artist, Muralist and Graphic Designer is the founder of Studio 162.
She studied graphic design, photography, printmaking, and painting at The Cooper Union School of Art in New York City. She received a grant from the Miller Brewing Company’s Business Grant Series for her compelling pitch to launch a creative agency. An exhibiting artist, Lauren’s work has been shown in group exhibitions across Connecticut, Washington D.C., and during Miami Art Basel week. Her passion for art and design converges in her mural work, which can be seen throughout downtown Stamford, Norwalk, and the Seaport in New York. Collaborating with organizations that align with her values has been central to her mission. Clients include Melissa & Doug, GE Appliances, Playtex, and local nonprofits such as Abilis, Liberation Programs, and Pacific House. Lauren’s murals and creative projects have been featured in publications including Stamford Magazine, Greenwich Magazine, The Stamford Advocate, and The Norwalk Hour. She remains active in her community, mentoring emerging artists and partnering with nonprofits. She is a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar alum, Carriage Barn Arts Center Board Member and a 2024–2025 Norwalk Art Space Fellow.
